Bella Derma is proud to offer one of the most advanced and innovative treatments available to reduce signs of cellulite in the buttocks and thighs: Avéli™. A concern shared by roughly 85% of women aged 20 and over, cellulite can be one of the more frustrating skin conditions to develop because even the strictest diet and exercise routines typically have no effect on it. Avéli™ offers a way to address the causes of cellulite and diminish its appearance for beautiful, smoother skin.

What Is Avéli™?

Avéli™ is an FDA-cleared treatment for adult women experiencing cellulite in the thighs and/or buttocks. It is designed to reduce telltale signs of cellulite, such as “dimples” and depressions in the skin, by targeting the fibrous connective tissues (“septa”) that cause the condition. These tissue bands deep within the skin of the thighs and buttocks can become tighter over time, essentially pulling the skin down and causing the dimples that are characteristic of cellulite. Avéli™ can target the bands and sever them, helping to give the skin a more even look.

How Can I Benefit from Avéli™ Treatment?

Avéli™ is one of the very few treatments for cellulite over the last several years that has shown to provide genuinely successful results for many patients. This procedure offers multiple advantages, including:

Avéli™ can be an effective treatment on its own, or it can be combined with non-surgical body sculpting procedures or other skin treatments available at our practice to provide more comprehensive aesthetic rejuvenation.

What Can I Expect During the Avéli™ Treatment Process?

Once we meet with you for an initial consultation and determine that Avéli™ is the best option for your goals, we will create a personalized treatment plan and talk with you about the next steps. Avéli™ can be performed right here at our practice, and often takes about one hour or less to complete, depending on the size and number of treatment areas.

Avéli™ involves the insertion of a needle-like device into the areas of skin affected by cellulite. Our staff will apply a local anesthetic to the targeted area beforehand in order to make your procedure as comfortable as possible. The Avéli™ device then works to release the tight septa bands that are pulling the skin down and causing its dimpled appearance. The Aveli™ technique includes a tool that enables our provider to make sure that the targeted septa bands have been released during the treatment, which can allow for enhanced accuracy and efficacy of the procedure. Following the Aveli™ treatment, the targeted areas of skin should be smoother and more even.

What About Recovery from Avéli™?

Since Avéli™ does not involve major surgery, the recovery process is often quite minimal. Patients can expect some soreness, bruising, and drainage of the fluid that was used to numb the area, but these side effects should only be temporary. Depending on the extent of treatment, most patients are able to return to normal daily activities within 24-48 hours after the Avéli™ procedure.

What Can I Expect From the Results of Avéli™?

For most patients, the best results of Avéli™ should start becoming apparent after about one month.

Are There Side Effects from Avéli™?

The most common side effects from Avéli™ include bruising, mild pain, and tenderness in the treatment areas. After the first 24 hours, any discomfort should subside, and the other common side effects should gradually dissipate over the next few weeks. Most patients do not require downtime beyond 24 to 48 hours following treatment. In some cases, patients may feel ready to resume most of their normal daily routines immediately.

Does Avéli™ Hurt?

The Avéli™ treatment process should not create excessive degrees of pain or discomfort. The areas of skin being treated will be numbed with a local anesthetic beforehand to minimize the potential for pain.

Will Weight Loss or Gain Affect the Avéli™ Results?

Weight loss or gain should not have a significant effect on the results of Avéli™ since this treatment is designed to focus on releasing the septa bands under the skin that cause cellulite “dimples” to appear. With that in mind, it is usually best to maintain a healthy weight and try to limit continuous and excessive weight fluctuations after a cosmetic enhancement procedure.

What Does Avéli™ Cost?

The total cost of Avéli™ is dependent upon unique factors associated with the personalized treatment plan; therefore, the price can vary among patients. The extent of treatment and other components will be taken into account. Once your treatment plan is developed during the initial consultation, a member of our team at Bella Derma Medi Spa can produce an estimated cost that includes all associated expenses and answer any questions you may have. Our practice accepts a number of convenient payment methods, including financing plans available for qualified applicants through PatientFi™. We will be happy to talk more with you about the payment option that works best for your budget.
